mwbamwbqLumnitzera mwbg(mwbwWilld., mwca1803) è un mwcqgenere di mwcgpiante appartenente alla mwcwfamiglia delle mwdaCombretaceae, diffuso tra le mwdqmangrovie costiere dell'oceano mwdgIndo-Pacificocite-ref-0-1-0[1]cite-ref-q-2-0[2].

Il nome del genere è un omaggio al botanico tedesco Stefani Lumnitzer (1750-1806).

Descrizione

Le due specie sono molto simili e differiscono sostanzialmente per la morfologia ed il colore dei mwigfiori, che sono rossi in mwiwL. littorea e bianchi in mwjaL. racemosa. Entrambe le specie hanno foglie piatte e spatolate, con margini concavi e finemente dentaticite-ref-q-2-1[2].

Distribuzione e habitat

Il genere è presente nelle mwkwmangrovie costiere dell'oceano Indo-Pacifico, dall'mwlaAfrica orientale sino all'mwlqAustralia, includendo le isole mwlgFigi e mwlwTonga.cite-ref-q-2-2[2]

mwnqL. racemosa prevale nella parte occidentale dell'areale mentre mwngL. littorea è preponderante in quello orientalecite-ref-q-2-3[2].

Tassonomia

All'interno del genere mwqwLumnitzera sono comprese due mwraspecie e un mwrqibrido naturalecite-ref-0-1-1[1]:

• mwtaLumnitzera littorea mwtg(Jack) Voigt
• mwuamwuqLumnitzera racemosa mwugWilld.

In alcune zone di sovrapposizione degli areali le due specie possono dar luogo all'ibrido:

• mwvgLumnitzera × rosea mwwaGaud.cite-ref-3[3]
